Robbie Williams To Rejoin Take That in 2017!

Robbie Williams To Rejoin Take That in 2017!

It looks like Robbie Williams could be rejoining Take That next year for their 25th Anniversary!

According to sources at The Daily Star "Robbie has agreed to rejoin the band for their greatest hits anniversary tour. He's still not decided on a full European tour but he's hoping to do every date".

Could this mean Jason Orange might be persuaded to rejoin for 2017? We'll have to wait and see, but it's looking promising that all five of the original line up could possibly be 'Back For Good'! Well for the anniversary tour at least!

The tour looks set to follow on nicely after Take That release their 8th album, which is expected in November this year.

This is all good news for the multitude of Take That tribute bands, and of course for the most famous name of them all - Fake That! The new album and new tour maintains the media focus on TT and hence the additional interest in booking Fake That not just for corporate events & outdoor festivals but for private parties and weddings. Also with Fake That's adaptable ability to offer all line ups of Take That's history ie 3 man, 4 man or 5 man shows, means they are the tribute band of choice for the most discerning fan!

How will Jason Oranges departure affect the UK Take That Tribute Bands?

Jason Orange quits Take That, but how will his departure effect the Take That tribute bands around the UK?

We spoke to Carl Christian the manager of the No1. & 1st Take That tribute band called 'Fake That' about what impact Mr Orange quitting the real band would have:

"I don't think it will make too much difference to Fake That and the rest of the TT tribute bands around the UK.  As we all know Take That started life as a 5 piece, before dropping to a 4 man show when Robbie
Fake That at the Sky Awards
left.  Robbie then re-joined for one tour, so back to a 5 man, then talks of being just a 4 piece for the new album, and now with they're a 3 piece!  Regardless of Robbie initially leaving the group, 95% of Fake That shows are as a 5!  If you think Relight My Fire, or Never Forget etc you imagine TT in their original line up!  These songs are still without doubt the most popular at all our shows, so we envisage this to continue, although we do offer a 4 man show, and will now offer a 3 piece option as well"!

So there you have it - no change really for the Take That tribute shows, other than to offer a 3 man line up as an additional show option!

To book Fake That as a 5, 4, or 3 man show visit their website at www.fakethat.co.uk, or contact StarBookers at info@starbookers.com

Fake That are the most widely recognised tribute to Take That, having been the first tribute to TT, and then
Fake That with TV's Got To Dance Kimberly Wyatt
having their trading name used in the Comic Relief 2011 Red Nose Day's hilarious spoof video, which saw the real Take That holding 'Fake That' tribute band auditions that included comedians David Walliams, James Corden, John Bishop, Catherine Tate and Alan Carr!

When is a tribute band a tribute band?

Earth Wind & Fire

or NOT

Earth Wind & Fire, that is the question?

The Real & Official EARTH WIND & FIRE!
As we all know there is only one original group of the above name (and shown above), which celebrated worldwide hits since the 1970's.
However confusion seems to be mustering with what appears to be misguided advertising by promoters of tribute bands and non official bands!
It's appreciated by the general public that tribute bands have very similar names to their idols which are often humorous and entertaining in themselves - Fake That (Take That), The Conmitments (The Commitments) etc etc.  Some of the tribute bands though have very similar names which isn't a problem as long as the advertising and the promoters are ethical with how the tribute night is marketed.
There is a similar problem with a group who are being advertised to perform near Marbella, Spain on 12th August 2014.  Take a look at this opening advertising paragraph, and decide if it's the real group or not:
The Earth Wind and Fire Experience featuring Al McKay
'Earth, Wind and Fire live at the Puente Romana Hotel: Nearly 40% off the amazing 60´s and 70´s legends Earth, Wind and Fire live at the Hotel Puente Romana, Marbella. Normally 55 Euros inc. booking fee and now only 35 Euros. Definitely a night to remember on August 12th'
Looks good doesn't it!  Only the wording 'Earth Wind & Fire' is used - must be original.  It even says '60's and 70's legends' to denote original.  Being a huge EW&F fan, I was intrigued and read more:
The legendary Earth, Wind and Fire live in concert at the lovely Hotel Puente Romano
Seats normally 55€ and now with 36% discount from Cooldeals only 35€
For one night only on Tuesday 12th August, doors open at 20.00hrs
See the fantastic big band playing their famous songs like "Boogie Wonderland", "Lets Groove", "After The Love Has Gone" and "September"
A great evening of entertainment in a fabulous location
Ample off road parking next to the tennis courts
Well this was it, those comments sealed it for me, no doubt about it, this is the real group:  'The legendary Earth, Wind and Fire live in concert''See the fantastic big band playing their famous songs like "Boogie Wonderland", "Lets Groove", "After The Love Has Gone" and "September"'.
Halfway to logging into Ryanair and checking on who I could stay with I suddenly stopped and thought I'd check with the bands website, to see if they were playing anywhere in the UK to save a trip to Spain.  What a surprise I got to read their US Tour included a date on 12th August at..........The Starlight Theatre, Kansas City!!!  Now I saw EW&F live at Wembley years back and the illusions they created on stage were magical, but even they can't be at both sides of the Atlantic at once!
An email to EW&F's management revealed that their gig guide was indeed correct.  The Official Licenced Earth Wind and Fire are in the USA on 12 Aug'14!  They also pointed out they were aware of a 'tribute band' called - 'The Earth Wind & Fire Experience featuring Al McKay (who play EW&F songs)', and that 'this band has caused confusion in the past as the promoters distort advertising to deceive the public into thinking that it is the official Earth, Wind & Fire.'

The promoters will no doubt say that they mention the name of the group in their advertising, but this is only if you scroll down the page further, and by this time your mind has already been conned into believing the real group is coming!
They may also say that Al McKay was a past member of the original group, which is actually quite true, but he is not the 'official licensed' group which includes Philip Bailey, Verdine White and Ralph Johnson!  In fact Wikipedia is a bit more revealing than the promoters would appear to be: 'Al McKay - He now performs with his band, The Al McKay Allstars, performing a show called The Earth, Wind & Fire Experience'.
The moral to this story is always check with the official groups tour date schedule, before booking tickets, as there are some - and this is only some - promoters who will gladly lead you up the garden path to a 'Boogie Wonder' land called deception!

Robbie Williams Tribute Acts and the RW 2013 Take The Crown Tour!

Robbie Williams kicks off his 2013 Take The Crown Stadium Tour in Dublin at the Aviva Stadium on 14th June, whilst rehearsals with his band are currently underway at his home in Wiltshire.

(If the above video doesn't display click here to view)

It will be his first full tour for over six years, and will see Mr Williams performing at 18 Stadiums over 26 nights, during June, July & August!

He'll be supported by non other than X Factors Olly Murs on all of the dates apart from the final show at Stavanger, Norway on Sunday 25th August.
The question is could Robbie have done this tour without his comeback reunion with Take That catapulting him back into the European spotlight?
It's a question to ask, and one to ponder.  The answer - maybe yes, maybe no, but what is certain is that the Take That Progress Tour reminded everyone how awesome he is live and what a true entertainer Robbie Williams really is!

You know that if you were lucky enough to buy a ticket to one of his 2013 concerts, you'll be in for one hell of a show!  It's almost a guarantee isn't it!  A Robbie Williams concert = a great night!  Which isn't necessarily the case with the multitude of tribute acts that attempt to emulate Robbie Williams up and down the country week in week out.  Some are just solo singers who've decided to sing Robbie songs and call themselves a tribute.  There are no manerisms, no tatoo's, no simulated stage presence, no emulated costume.....you get the picture!

There are some good ones of course, and the pick of the bunch that we've found over the last sixteen years since Robbie Williams tribute acts were created has been one simply called 'Millennium'!  Even back in 2003 Channel 5 TV realised he was the cream of the crop and used him to close their New Yeas Eve TV Special of Night Fever hosted by Suggs from Madness and a cavalcade of celebrities!

The UK is one thing but this guy has completed corporate engagements & outdoor concerts through Europe, The Middle East and the Southern Hemisphere!    He's even performed to a larger audience than any other solo tribute act - let alone a Robbie Williams tribute act, of over 65,500 at the Old Trafford Stadium as the pre match entertainment for the Tetleys Rugby Super League Grand Final!

Quality shines through, it rises to the top, and it's recognised by the people and the companies who only want to book the best!  A great person once said 'Excellence is not a skill, it's an attitude!  Well it's certainly an attitude that Millennium has, and it's why he not only appears solo or with his band, but now also appears in the UK's flagship Take That Tribute Band, quite aptly named - THE GREATEST!

JLS to split but it's not the end for the JLS Tribute Bands!

JLS Tribute Band - JLS Adventure staying together!
JLS have announced that they will be splitting up after a Finale Tour which is scheduled to be in December 2013!

After two Brit Awards, five MOBO Awards, five number one hits, and selling more than ten million records Aston, Marvin, JB & Oritse have decided to call it quits and pursue different ventures.

However, it's not the end for their JLS Tribute Bands who will continue to work on.........but why?

Well, JLS are planning one last single, a farewell greatest hits album and as mentioned a 'Goodbye' arena tour!

The media coverage that the breaking news has caused, is renewing interest in their tribute bands and especially one in particular called JLS Adventure

Steven (pictured top left above) the lead vocalist and manager of the tribute band said on hearing the news of JLS's split "I'm really sad about it!  I actually know the boys so I did know this was coming, but as far as JLS Adventure are concerned it's already creating even more demand for us!"

Girls Aloud Tribute Bands Are Back In The Limelight!

They are the most successful UK girl band ever, and now Girls Aloud have not only reformed but are thought to be due to release a brand new single!

Girls Aloud Tribute Band - Girls Alouder

Cheryl Cole, Nadine Coyle, Sarah Harding, Kimberley Walsh and Nicola Roberts are now household names, but it was on 30th November back in 2002 that ITV1 talent show Popstars The Rivals formed the group and catapulted them to twenty consecutive top ten UK hits, 4 platinum albums, concert tours and numerous awards!  Now they're back with a teaser video of what is thought to be a new single and news of a special announcement on Friday 19th October 2012 on the official Girls Aloud website!

Already the enquiries have resurged for the Girls Aloud Tribute Bands, Girls Alouder, Girls B Loud, Girls R Aloud and Girls Out Loud, who will be all too keen to add any new single to their repertoire.  The question though is how will this affect the enquiries and subsequent bookings for these Girls Aloud tributes?  Well it really does depend on a few factors:  how popular will a new single be; will there be an album;  will there be a tour; and subsequently how popular will a possible album and tour be with not only the public, but also the general press and industry critics as a whole?  I suppose we'll all just have to wait until this Friday to begin to find out, but if Cheryl Cole's new autobiography is anything to go by then we may be hearing of a greatest hits collection and a final headline tour!!
